My name is Kay, I'm the Community Manager here at Stage32. Nice to "virtually" meet you! I hope during this month's Introduce Yourself Weekend you find a few people who inspire you, who piques your interest, and who, during this strange time in the world, makes you feel not so lonely.
As one of my former students reminded me, when you feel overwhelmed or self-doubting your path, take it one step at a time. Let this handshake be a manageable reach. A friendly conversation. A wink, a smile, a call to action. But most of all... I invite each of you to offer that authentic, inspiring, virtual handshake that you yourself crave.
Our human resources are our greatest strength, and I'm so grateful to be a part of such a wonderful and encouraging community. If you'd like suggestions on how to approach new people without an agenda that chases them away, please enjoy a blog I wrote about resetting the intention of networking: https://www.stage32.com/blog/How-to-Make-Friends-in-the-Film-Business-Re...
And now... LET'S PLAY A GAME!
What's your comfort-food series? That thing you put on while you do laundry ;-)
I may be listening to the first season of the CW's The Flash LOL!

Hello Kay! Good to see you again and I always enjoy that you include a fun question too. I have a few: 1. Seinfeld - you can put on any episode once in a while and they are still as funny as they have ever been! 2. King of the Hill - Watching it the second time around after the original run, I picked up on how much heart it has in addition to all the laughs.

Hi Kay, Hi Brian! Community (Troy and Abed doing laauundry!), and Scrubs. Those are my go-to shows. :-)

Tabitha Abney YASS! LOVE Community! LOL! Troy and Abed doing laundry - classic. I haven't seen Scrubs in a LONG while, but that sounds equally enjoyable. I'm sensing a "Bromance" theme here ;-)
Brian Carlin Good to see you, too! Yeah, man, we're all here for the love of the story, so let's enjoy the ride, right? ;-) Ooo, great suggestions! I don't remember watching Seinfeld all together, so I should start from the beginning and watch it through. And SO many big names have come from King of the Hill, I'm definitely going to have to watch that one again! Although I'll have to brace myself - most of my family is from Texas and Louisiana, so the accents both seem familiar AND bother me deeply LOL!

Uhh, Tabitha Abney - you're a costumer?! How frickin' COOL! What genre do you like working in? Or is there a genre you'd like to try that you havne't had a chance to play with yet? My grandmother LOVED costuming, so my family is big into historical recreation (colonial and Renaissance mostly, although I very much have fallen in love with the 1940's after Agent Carter). You're in Ohio? Do you work outside of the state at all?

I'm rewatching/listening to Campaign 1 of Critical Role :) voice actors playing Dungeons & Dragons and being both hilarious and also able to have me crying along with them? Yes pleeeaaasseee!

@Karen...Yes, I love costuming. Honestly, I'll work any genre in order to build my portfolio, but my DREAM would be to do Fantasy/Sci Fi! Yes...I will definitely work outside of the state! :-)

It depends on what kind of comfort I need. Sometimes it's mindless cooking shows. Usually Gordon Ramsey. Other times, it's NBC's Chuck or USA's Psych, or even The West Wing (my go too when I just need to soak in some good writing).

Hi, Karen! Thanks for helping keep the community moving forward. I'd have to go for Psych, Star Trek (Original or TNG), or The Simpsons. :D

I have to agree with Tabitha, I could watch community and scrubs over and over. Also Supernatural, to feed my inner nerd.

First season of The Bridge, the original Scandi one (Broen/Bron). It's ancient at this point, but still holds up. Off to read your blog post :)
ETA: Nice post!

Karen "Kay" Ross Kay, I definitely get where you're coming from on King of the Hill - it's tough when a series is set somewhere you're from and you can tell how accurate it really is. For example, I'm originally from Ohio (and been all over the Midwestern region) and when I watch shows that are set there and hear characters talking about getting a "soda" I'm always going "we call it pop there!" Seinfeld is definitely one that you could watch from beginning to end - so many memorable episodes and while they are mostly independent, some of them do move the world forward and call back to earlier ones. Have a great rest of your weekend!

Mark E Holmes Fellow TNG'er here! Definitely enjoy going back and watching that one once in a while. So many great episodes, and with many of them the most important element has not aged at all - their themes!

Tabitha Abney Love that you're a costumer! It's an underappreciated craft - it's amazing how a great costume helps realize the vision of a character, and an actor truly feel like the character they are playing. I'm also a huge sci-fi person and would love to work in that genre too.

John Ellis DUDE! SUCH a fun show! One of my LA friends is a WA/Writer on Legends and she convinced me to go back and give it another shot ( I couldn't get through season 1). We watched the first two and last two episodes of Season 1 and hopped over to Season 2 and never looked back - HA! I definitely appreciate that Mick is committed to being Mick. Totally unapologetic.
