Trying to Land a Faith-Based Script on the Right Desk.

As an unrepresented screenwriter, with a represented writing partner, we write in several genres but are finding it difficult to present work to Faith-Based producers. We've found a few Indie Faith-Based producers willing to review and we're still waiting for a potential response, but what about the big boys? Affirm, Kendrick Brothers, etc. Does anyone have any suggestions on landing a script in their hands?

Kristin Holloway

Hi! I think this is so wonderful Teresa! I believe this webinar can help you out a TON! There is so much insider knowledge if you have an hour and a half. I really think this would benefit you so your script will start being seen by the producers you want:

Why haven't you registered to attend the faith-based ICVM.com conference in Orlando in November? They're offering all sorts of opportunities, including pitching possibilities. The big boys will all be there!

Teresa Barber

Erik A. Jacobson - Thanks for the info. Have not heard of this one. will be looking into this.

Teresa - For many years ICVM has been the leading faith-based conference in the nation. It's the grandaddy of them all. This year they will even have their own market, where leading producers will compete with one another for scripts and completed films. You'd be crazy to miss it.

I've had some moderate success with faith-based screenplay contests. I entered one of our non-faith-based screenplays at Branson. I didn't realize they were a totally faith-based festival. When I gave our pitch there I had one of the characters swear and that was the end for me. It wasn't really funny at the time, but now I look back and chuckle. It's the way of the world.
