Introduce Yourself : First introduction in a while by Tom Kuhl

First introduction in a while

I’m Tom from Minneapolis, and I love these weekends. Last post here, I had finished novelizing my latest screenplay, and it was out for a line edit. I hoped to have it out by the end of 2021 on Kindle Unlimited. An opportunity to move to a nicer place with heated parking was something I couldn’t pass up, so I had to put everything on hold for a couple of months.

After opting to go wide instead of starting on Kindle Unlimited, the Doing Business As eBook debuted under a pen name on Amazon and Kobo on February 10th. Anyone reading this can have a copy for free, DM me and let me know if you want it in PDF or ePub format.

I didn’t pre-launch, so I need star ratings and honest reviews to please the Amazon algorithm right now. Self-published books seem to have the exact opposite problem of screenplays. While it’s hard to get scripts read, when they are, there’s always a response, even if it’s to say “pass .” With eBooks, free copies usually lead to reads, but few people take the time to leave a review or even give a quick star rating.

I have a style very similar to John Irving. I love finding humor and humanity in often ironic and sometimes bizarre situations. So anyone that likes John Irving and “Chick-Lit” will probably like this book.

Here’s the book Blurb:

“Maddie Richards has everything a Bible-loving, small-town woman could wish for. Up until her hubby Jim left town, that was, along with all their money, his clients’ money, and the church’s money, for good measure.

But it takes more than an unreliable husband for Maddie to give up her standing in the town so easily. Inspired by her love of all things Thelma & Louise, Maddie hatches a wild plan to return the money before anyone can discover what Jim has done and becomes a secret business owner—of a male strip club.

Maddie enlists Staci, a defiant lesbian, to run her club, and waits for the dollars to come in. Unfortunately, Maddie’s new business also attracts more than money. It earns the disdain of the local townsfolk and churchgoers and the attention of a handsome former male stripper who starts Maddie questioning her Christian morals.

When Maddie is forced to protest the new strip club or risk giving away her secret, she begins to wonder if maybe there’s more to living a good life than she thought. And the alternative involves a heady mix of female empowerment and giving into temptation.”

If anyone here is also on Story Origin, a free review copy can be obtained there as well.
