LOGLINE: An over-eager detective's mistakes and their deadly consequences begin to eat away at his sanity while hot on the trail of California's most prolific serial killer.

SYNOPSIS:

A 5 year detective, Andre Adams is given a murder case of a young girl. He needs a promotion so he won't be a failure in life. His mistakes will be deadly. He is investigating a serial killer is roaming around. A teenager is pranked at a party by a group of his classmates and Andre believes that the teenager will plot revenge on them. Andre accuses the teenager of the killings and arrests him twice and is completely wrong both times. Andre is suspended but still wants to investigate so he does it secretly. Andre eventually gets fired. The bodies are piling up and Andre is running out of time. The murderer is catching on to Andre and hurts Andre where it hurts the worst, his heart. Andre deals with a great loss and it makes him question if he should investigate further or stop completely. His sanity is starting to become out of control. Someone he knows ends up in the hospital. Andre is given advice about how to find out who the murderer is. Andre applies the advice that was given to him and finds clues from unlikely sources. He is closing in on the killer. Himself and two other important people are captured and they must get out before they are all killed. Andre tries to save everyone. The killer is arrested. Everything seems to be over but finds the killer has committed suicide himself. Peace is restored but at what cost?

The "mistakes and their deadly consequences" portion threw me off. Using a determiner like 'their' when there are two nouns to choose from (detective, mistake) makes us second-guess what you're referring to. Otherwise, it's a pretty intriguing Logline.
