About James

Jim Foye is a multiple quarterfinalist in the Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting Competition, sponsored by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. He was a semifinalist in the Creative World Awards Screenplay Competition, a quarterfinalist in the Scriptapalooza Competition, and a finalist in the Chesterfield Writer’s Project, the American Accolades Screenwriting Competition and BenderSpink’s Cowrite screenplay competition. In 2011 and 2014, he finished in the top fifteen percent of all scripts entered in the Austin Film Festival Feature Screenplay Competition.
His most recent script REVOLUTIONARY SPY was the First Place Gold Award Overall Winner in the 2021 Titan Awards from Industrial Scripts, a semifinalist in the 2020 Austin Film Festival Screenwriting Competition and a top 50 finalist in the Tracking Board’s Launch Pad Feature Competition. REVOLUTIONARY SPY won 'Best Historical Screenplay' at the 2022 Richmond International Film Festival. It was a top 3 finalist in Final Draft's Big Break Screenwriting Competition, a finalist in the Creative World Awards Contest and the WeScreenplay Diverse Voices script contest, a semifinalist in the CineStory Retreat Contest and the Table Read My Screenplay Hollywood Contest, and a quarterfinalist in the Blue Cat Screenplay Competition, the Stage 32 Feature Script Contest, and the Los Angeles International Screenplay Awards. Jim optioned his film-noir mystery script CITY OF LIES to ESP Films in 2011.
In his former professional life, Jim worked in public policy for 12 years, including as the Public Information Officer for the City of New Haven and as the Vice President of Marketing and Communication for the second largest Chamber of Commerce and Public Policy Organization in New England, the MetroHartford Alliance. Prior to that Jim was a newspaper editor, commentary editor and sports reporter for two Connecticut newspapers. In 2011, Jim and his family moved from New Haven, CT to Southern California.
Jim is a graduate of the University of Maryland Baltimore County’s (UMBC) School of Visual Arts with a BFA in Cinematic Arts.

Unique traits: Film school at UMBC (Go Retrievers!), was press officer for the Mayor of New Haven, CT, Communications VP for New England’s 2nd Largest Chamber of Commerce, then optioned a screenplay and moved to SoCal. Finalist in the Tracking Board’s Launch Pad, Final Draft’s Big Break; Semifinalist Austin Film Fest. Husband, father, Mets fan, 007 nerd, history buff & solid tour guide at Warner Bros. Studios.
