About Philip

Philip wrote his first script at the prompting of a writer friend. He entered his second script, Neon Cactus, into the Academy's Nicholl Fellowship, which placed as a Quarter-Finalist in the prestigious competition. Since that time, an armada of his screenplays & films have received acclaim from film festivals, fellowships and competitions.

He pens his own screenplays, engages in work-for-hire writing, works as a script doctor and during the pandemic, directed his first short film, from his award-winning screenplay, ZAP! Currently several short films are in progress and he actively works to develop feature films. Committed to reinvigorating the film industry in Southern Arizona, he is always willing to be on set, consult on a script or engage in production of one of his script properties.

His scripts are known as evocative, sometimes off beat, and his dialogue has been defined as incisive, rich in subtext and full of what makes a person tick, especially when challenged by one of those forks in the road

Philip serves as a juror for the Prescott Film Festival, where he also presents screenwriting workshops.

Member: Independent Writers Caucus (WGAw), Arizona Production Association.
