About Nic

Writer/Director/Producer based in London, UK, I run my own small company Break Into Three with my daughter, Shiona Penrake. Our latest short film, Look Inside, was written, directed and edited by Shiona and, at the time of updating this profile, (June 27th) this film is in the Finalists group for Stage 32's Annual Short Film Contest.

Over the years I have written, produced and directed several short films, including one documentary, most of which have found distribution, plus a clutch of ads. Currently I am developing a handful of feature film projects with Cubic 7 in the UK.

Early in 2020, I teamed up with Sunday Tiimes best-selling author Clifford Thurlow, to adapt his awesome, based-on a-true-story book, Operation Jihadi Bride. We are now looking for an experienced producer to come on board to develop the project, with a budget estimated at $5-7 m.

Currently I am rep'd in LA by Lanette Mastandrea at CSP Management/Citizen Skull .

As well as my own projects i'm happy to help as writer, director, producer, production manager, 1st AD or any combination of the above, so don't hesitate to reach out if you're looking for a dedicated collaborator on your next project.

I'm also a highly experienced conceptual copywriter and run two podcasts: One Good Take and A Trader's Life:

Unique traits: Entrepreneurial
