Introduce Yourself : VP of Creative Services by Graham P. Halky

Graham P. Halky

VP of Creative Services

I am looking for a frank conversation with professional producers and directors on the best way to find experienced directors with a track record in children's television.

Amanda Toney

Hi Graham, definitely connect with Regina Lee https://www.stage32.com/reginalee she's worked on the studio and independent side and has a WEALTH of knowledge. Plus, she's super friendly and helpful.

Thank you Shannon. I have reached out to Ms. Lee. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. This is a huge project that is going where no other children's show has gone before. We have been attaching several prominent figures in education for content as well as several celebrities for the crew including John William Gault, the godfather of voice over and Betsy Baytos, a major cherographer for Cirque du Soleil and Disney. We have been able to atrract the likes of Tyler Bunch who just recently won an Emmy for his work on Sesame Street along with some of their puppeteers and writers. I am hoping to get Frank Oz on board.

Given your background, I think you will appreciate the importance of this project, a children's show in development that is devoted to one thing: imagination. Albert Einstein said that "Logic will get you from a to b, but imagination will get you everywhere else.. We have Scott Noppe Brandon, the author of IMAGINATION FIRST on board along with Faith Rogow who is probably the foremost expert on content for children's TV shows. We also have a crew with over fourteen Emmys between them. Still it is not enough. Scott is away on a tour of China right now, but he feels that the show could literally change the paradigm of education worldwide. I have a meeting Tuesday morning with NBC Universal. I am hoping to get Frank Oz on board as one of the directors. I am trying desperately to load this show's development with the finest talent in the industry. It is more important than myself or anything I have ever worked on before. Any additional help that you can offer would be greatly appreciated. I feel like time is running out in this crazy world we live in. I want to make sure this show has the chance to make a difference.

Regina Lee

Hey Shannon and Graham, I appreciate the connection. Graham and I messaged. Unfortunately, my experience in animation and kids' TV is not in the Educational programming space. Sounds like Graham is kicking butt though! Break a leg!!

Ken Glaza

What area of the US are you in?

Graham P. Halky

Ken, at the moment, I am in New York City. I worked at Grace n Wild and with the wonderful folk at Dark Spark Media. Loved working in Michigan. The crew were some of the nicest people I have ever encountered. Meanwhile back in July 2015, I am looking for directors with experience in children's TV for a NYC production. This is not your typical kid's show and requires extensive experience with multiple puppets, costumed characters and a sub stage for puppeteers.
