Hey all. I'm new to Stage 32 and I was curious about people's opinions on the NYFA. Good place? Bad place? I've seen mixed feelings across the net so thought I'd ask. Right now I'm slowly working on a my first TV script but thought a screenwriting course with NYFA might be a good leg up...and yet I'm leery of putting myself another $13k in debt. Thanks! :)

Why are you planning to attend NYFA? What kind of push do you need for your script? I would suggest taking some of the screenwriting classes in NYC. It's cheaper, definitely than taking a class at NYFA. And these classes (not the NYFA) offer more one-on-one sessions. I would suggest checking out www.writeyourscreenplay.com. They're more concerned about getting you focused and writing.
Yes, but the government covers tuition and NYFA will at least give me a MFA in Screenwriting and connections, which is nice. I'm going to participate in Scriptapalooza, though.
