LOGLINE:

Two women learn about their mute aunts life through her diaries after her funeral. Scarlett is saved multiple times by an educated Native American during a native uprising.

SYNOPSIS:

1940s DORIS (70s) and GRACE (70s) lay their aunt to rest. When going through their mothers things they find a chest full of diaries they did not know existed. The first one they read is from the 1850s.

1850s Small training outpost/town somewhere in mid west America. SCARLETT (18), mute arrives via stage coach. Before she can disembark the horses are startled and the driverless carriage careens itself from the scene. MAX (19), educated Native American turned infantry sees the mishap and rides his palomino to the rescue.

Scarlett is working in a mess hall of an army unit. Max takes a liking to Scarlett. BRUCE (20), brute takes advantage of Scarlett’s inability to scream. Max pulls Bruce off of scarlet and they brawl. Both are thrown in the stockade. Scarlett visits Max daily and they bond.

Native Americans rise up against the settlement for days. One of those attacks lead to Max being sprung from his shackles. During the last big push against the settlement Max rides in during the battle and whisks Scarlett away in the nick of time before the settlement is burned to the ground.

Max and Scarlett ride away into the sunset as the town is a blaze.
