Introduce Yourself : Looking to Collaborate! by Katelyn Studer

Looking to Collaborate!

Hey there everyone! My name is Katelyn - I am currently living in the Atlanta, GA area and am originally from Florida. I am currently pursuing my dream of acting, focusing on film. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Theater Arts and that is the arena most of my training is in. However, I have been involved both in front and behind the camera on several independent productions and have learned a lot about the industry! I am constantly on the lookout for projects to collaborate on, and for fellow artists to support! While acting is my passion, and what I truly want to do, I have also enjoyed my time on set working in other capacities as well. Lately, I have even started to get into writing, and have been working on several short comedy scripts that I plan on acting in and shooting in the near future! I would love to hear from other Stage 32 members in the Atlanta area especially, but I look forward to speaking with anyone that reaches out! It's great to be a part of this network of so many amazing artists!

Hey Katelyn! Great to meet you! How long have you been living in Atlanta? It's currently topping my list of places to consider moving to after I graduate film school, as I hear a lot about how the industry seems to be growing well and thriving there. What's been your experience in the industry in the area?

Katelyn Studer

David, thank you - I will absolutely send you my reel shortly! Ellecina, I moved up here in February and so far I absolutely love it! There's a lot going on from major film productions, several tv shows, and a large independent scene! I know quite a few people that make their living freelancing here, and a lot of work from LA is coming here. There's also a lot of networking opportunities :) Feel free to message me if you have more specific questions!

W. Keith Sewell

Hello Katelyn! This is such an exciting time to be in the TV/film production biz in Atlanta. We are putting together a small group of artists/investors to form a micro-budget - low-budget production facility on the Eastside, Stone Mountain area to produce shorts, a sitcom project; a non-scripted web-series for teens and pre-teens and another series hosted by my daughter, a recent mass media graduate, dealing with fashions on the low low... My vision is to establish a production source in the Atlanta area for micro, mini, and low-budget shoots, where we work together as crew, actors, writers and directors on each others projects. Currently I've been networking and researching equipment costs and locations... I will also be seeking recent and current grads of film schools in the area for interns and experience. We hope to be up and running by late fall. You're welcome to network with me here for future updates or just to talk ideas... I really am excited about this .. is it worth the risk? 20 years ago we released a play at 14th St Playhouse, it received good audience reviews, but our lack of marketing knowledge, lead us to believe that to do it again would be too costly and time consuming. Another writer/producer, released his 1st comedy theatrical production and took it on the road. He is well known now as the owner operator of his own studio - Tyler Perry Studios! So do I think it's worth the risk? Absolutely! Come join in with the Atlanta Dream Factory. Keith

Keith, that absolutely sounds like fun! I would be very interested in seeing what I could do to be a part of your team!
