Olivia Briggs is an award-winning screenwriter and playwright currently expanding her efforts to television writing. After earning her B.A. with Honors from Oberlin College, Briggs spent six years working in the independent film circuit in Los Angeles, producing several short films as well as the feature documentary, The Workshop (2012), selected as The Best of The Catskill Film Festival. Most recently, Briggs earned an M.F.A. in dramatic writing from NYU Tisch School of the Arts Asia, co-wrote and produced Bottles on the Water, A Night of Short Plays from Abroad at New York City's Arthur Seleen Theatre, and her new play, Ronnie's Cabinet, was performed as part of the Thespis Theatre Festival at The Roy Arias II Theatre in Times Square. Awards include: Jane Chambers Award for Best Student Play for Agnes Baby, the Flint Film Festival's Best Screenplay award for Suicide Girl, and the Thespis Theater Festival award for Best Original Play for Ronnie's Cabinet.
Unique traits: Briggs is a native New York City gal with a penchant for writing strong female characters with a sharp sense of humor.
