Looking back at the highs and lows of your journey in the industry, what was your turning point? Can you pinpoint when you made the decision to change your life? What small choice cascaded into a waterfall of "Universal Greenlights"? Today's guest credits Stage 32, the book The Artist's Way, and his tenacity to get his film into festivals as what resurrected his career. While acting and writing are certainly his talents, today we dig deep into the work required to make it a profession. We talk about the importance of packaging and branding yourself, understanding your value, learning how to deal with rejection, and pursuing what you're passionate about. Such valuable lessons for an actor or writer at any stage!

The best part of the Member Spotlight series has been to get to know contributors in the Stage 32 Lounges a little bit better while showing the community that their next "professional friendship" is only one coffee date away. This time, however, it was so enjoyable to also allow my guest to get to know me. When someone asks you about yourself, how gratifying it can feel to reciprocate! This generosity of spirit is definitely the bedrock of Stage 32's mission. Today's guest is a fantastic example of lifting themselves up as they lift up others. No matter where you are on your journey, we hope you will keep going!

It is my pleasure to introduce you to Stephen Foster, a long-time Stage 32 member and frequent contributor to the Acting Lounge. You may know Stephen from his posts about mentors, check-ins, and his incredibly insightful "Vein of Gold." You may not know that his wisdom can be found in his book, Awakening the Actor Within! He also just discovered TikTok as a platform to air comedy skits as well - what a great way to keep putting your work out there! For any on-screen talent, on-stage talent, or writers of any ilk, take heed of the wisdom of Stephen! Join me in welcoming him with a comment below!

If you’d like more information on Stephen, be sure to check out his website, find him on Facebook, Instagram, and of course, jump in on the Stage 32 Lounge conversations he’s started here!
