I'm thrilled to announce today that for the 5th straight year, Stage 32 and the American Film Market have joined forces to bring new opportunities and access to attendees of America's largest film market. Stage 32 is proud to continue to be the official Networking and Education partner of the AFM and this year is extra special. For the first time, the AFM has gone virtual.
So what does that mean for you?
More access and opportunity at the AFM no matter where you live in the world. I'm proud to call AFM's Head Honcho, Jonathan Wolf a friend (aptly titled Twitter @afmhoncho - go follow him!) and he is a firm advocate for independent cinema's filmmakers, producers and entrepreneurs and he brings that spirit seamlessly into each year's AFM. This year is no different, and he and his crew have kicked it up a notch global pandemic be damned! You will find more attendees, exhibitors, screenings, networking and education than ever before. It's truly an impressive lineup and you don't want to miss out.
It was because of Jonathan that my book, Crowdsourcing for Filmmakers: Indie Film and the Power of the Crowd was published under the American Film Market Presents Banner. Very few titles receive such an honor and I couldn't be more grateful. I'm also thrilled to announce that I've been asked to give a virtual talk involving all the material within Crowdsourcing for Filmmakers at this year's AFM: online edition.
As the official networking and education partner of AFM, all attendees who sign up for the conference will receive a FREE Stage 32 Next Level Webinar to further assist their craft and/or industry pursuits. You can get your AFM badge here.
We have a lot going on at this year's American Film Market, so check it out below and join us!
Stage 32 is the Official Education Partner of the American Film Market
As part of the 2020 AFM Online Conference program, in addition to my talk on crowdsourcing (which is more important than ever in today's climate) I’ll be hosting a can't-miss webinar about how succeed as a screenwriter in today's environment, as well as moderating a panel with some amazing guests on overcoming pandemic production challenges. Here is all the information you need to watch during AFM:

Wednesday, Nov 11 from 11:00am – 12:00pm PST

In the age of Covid, learning how to crowdsource has never been more important. Join Stage 32 CEO and Author of Crowdsourcing for Filmmakers: Indie Film and The Power of the Crowd for a class that will explain how to put crowdsourcing to use to establish your personal brand and the brand of your projects by using social media, offline efforts and other tools. You will learn all aspects of crowdsourcing including how to identify, engage, and move an army of supporters on your behalf.

Richard Botto, Founder & CEO, Stage 32

Thursday, November 12, 11:00am – 12:00pm PST

Getting films into production safely is the biggest obstacle the global industry is facing. Executives, producers and those creating and overseeing production guidelines talk the protocols, costs, and risks associated with production in the time of a pandemic.

Chris Moore, Oscar-Nominated Producer, Almost Never Films (GOOD WILL HUNTING, MANCHESTER BY THE SEA)
Celine Rattray, Partner & Producer, Maven Pictures (THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT, BERNIE)
Jennifer Westin, SVP, Production, MarVista Entertainment (SIGHTLESS, CAUGHT)

Richard Botto, Founder & CEO, Stage 32

Friday, Nov 13 from 2:00pm – 3:00pm PST

Give yourself the best chance to break in and learn the guidelines on how to sustain a high profile and successful career as a screenwriter. Learn common mistakes and how to avoid them, how to get the all-important read, strategies for landing representation and finding producers for your work, and how to assure you’re listening to the right voices. Over nearly a decade of writing screenplays (with multiple paid options/sales) and running Stage 32, Richard “RB” Botto has seen and heard it all. In this class he will provide you the blueprint on how to give yourself the best chance at success in the current environment.
