Coffee & Content - Dan Harmon's 8 Steps to Better Stories & Editing Cuts and Transitions

Happy Sunday, everyone. Let's get to the action, shall we?

We start this edition of Coffee & Content with a video from our friends at StudioBinder and Dan Harmon. Dan has been quite prolific over the last decade plus and here he explains his 8 proven steps to better stories.

Next up, a look at cuts and transitions with examples from some iconic, classic, and recent films designed to help your editing skills.

As always, I ask that you share this content with those you believe would benefit from viewing. You can do so with the handy share buttons in the upper right of this page.

And, of course, I welcome your thoughts and musings in the comments section below.

Enjoy your Sunday and the coffee & content.

Cheers!

Hey, what I don't find helpful is when an explanation is explained by only one sample like the way this batman story is told. I don't like this super hero films and haven't seen any of them. Hence, the explanation doesn't bring me any further.Same is true btw when reading books telling me "how to write a screenplay" only by examples of films the author has written himself and I never watched them. So, they probably weren't that popular that they made it over the Atlantic or s/he simply writes films I'm not interested in. So, to all you wonderful happy successful screenwriters and filmmakers, please stop promoting your own stuff when explaining how it works and stop using just one example for 8 (proven) Steps for what ever. @Richard "RB" Botto Have you ever thought of creating sister sites in other countries? I'd be interested.

Sure it is and there is nothing wrong with Stage32 in general, but the pitch sessions for example are only with US producers and also the job sections are only for Films in English, but there are so much more movies in other languages that should find a producer. I got the idea when I was searching for film job offers in my country and found one page which could be much better. So I thought what if there was a Stage32 corner where people can pitch, find jobs, webinars and of course script consulting like Happy Writers offers in French, Italian, German, Danish, Russian, Japanese... It should be possible to log in the way we do it now and then use everything.

Interesting take, E.  Not sure what you mean about sister sites.  32 has members (and is available) all over the globe.
