Baz Martin Gibbons is author of ‘Beyond the Screenplay’ and ‘Cinema and Its Discontents’ (MacFarland, 2012 / 2016). His essays on world cinema have appeared in ‘Directory of World Cinema’ and ‘World Film Locations’ published by Intellect Ltd. (UK) and University of Chicago Press (USA), with French translations published by Presses Universitaires de Provence (France)
His most recent publications include translations of Brazilian writers Augusto dos Anjos, Murilo Mendes, Lima Barreto, and Mário de Andrade published by Poetry Foundation, Lunch Ticket, The Antonym, Mantis, Action, Spectacle, Asymptote and elsewhere. His translations of Murilo Mendes won the 2023 Gabo Prize for Literary Translation. He is currently working on his MA in Creative Writing.
