Born in Texas, raised in Maine, Brynn attributes her family's move to Lubbock, Texas as a creative wake-up call when she was 15. "I could be trapped here for the rest of my life if I don't do something," she thought. She started out as an art history major at University of Texas in Austin, but soon transferred to UCLA to train as an actor and get her theatre degree, with more training in New York that followed. She lived and worked in L.A. for years before seeing the light and moving to Portland, Oregon for a better quality of life and greater creative control over her work.
