Julio Ramos

Julio Ramos is a Composer for Film, TV, and New Media.

Started out in music at an early age taking piano lessons at age 4, guitar lessons at 12 and at 17 got the fortune to study composition with Manuel Vázquez Terry, a young composer for TV who was pivotal in Julio's carrer as he was the one who sparked his interest in film music.

Having decided to make a career in music, he enrolled in G. Martell College of Music and Audio where he graduated with a bachelor degree in Contemporary Composition and Piano performance and a Masters degree in Music Production.

During his time in college he was examined by The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM), in London, in Grade 6 Theory of Music and passed with merit.

He studied the classical composition technique under the tutelage of Maestro Ramiro Pastrana for 3 years, time that helped him hone his composing skills and take them to the next level.

His latest and probably most significant credential is the Filmsoring Diploma which was imparted by Composer Milo Coello (NBC, National Geographic, History Channel, Discovery Channel).

During this diploma he had the honor of attending masterclasses from several industry heavyweights including: Dan Carlin, Head of the Berklee Filmscoring Program Film Composer and Music Editor, Mark Petrie Trailer music composer which credits include, Insurgnt, The Hobbit and Guardians of The Galaxy, Film and TV composer Sandro Morales Santoro, and Grammy-winning producer and Film Composer Milo Froideval.
