I moved to Los Angeles in 1997 with seven great friends who all went to the University of San Diego together. I started working in the industry for a nightmare manager but found my passion in production working for Ron Howard on ED TV as a personal PA. I segued then to work for the Line Producer on The Grinch (David Womark), where I learned the fundamentals of putting a large movie together. I worked at A Band Apart commercials division as a post production supervisor and following that I raised $1M in private equity to produce an action sports documentary entitled Billabong Odyssey, released in 2003 ().
And then the wheels fell off – professionally and personally - and I pulled the rip cord. Every sign that I could see was pointing straight out of town to a new career, out of entertainment and into… chiropractic?
So yes, I went back to school and earned my graduate degree in chiropractic and have been practicing up near Seattle Washington since 2007; but I never lost my love for the movies. I started writing screenplays several years ago and having a solid knowledge of production and post-production, my goal this year (2016) is to fund and shoot three short films, one of them entitled Forty From the Rough, which I would like to shoot as a feature in 2017.
