About Anthony

Anthony W Johnson is the creator of Ballet Magique® and the Founder of Laughing Man on Fire Productions in Los Angeles, CA. He is also a member of The Society of Composers and Lyricists, S.A.G. – AFTRA, the Dramatist Guild, and Stage Directors and Choreographers Society. Anthony began writing at nine, and his poetry and several anthologies published his poetry throughout the years. He also wrote the novel 'C,' a science fiction-fantasy book about angels, demons, and the people who possess them. He is seeking a fantastic literary agent for the book. Under Ballet Magique®, Anthony has written four projects, and alongside Samaco Films, Anthony's dynamic Elevated Supernatural Film Alexis Colette is the final development set to shoot in the summer of 2024. Ballet Magique® with Samaco Films will co-produce his second musical," Da Vinci," like Alexis Colette. It's an ambitious undertaking as his career led him to create many fusions in theatre and live entertainment. Anthony's film Vodun is now in development and will be his second film. Although he plans not to direct the film, he will produce and is the Production Designer for the movie.

Anthony has written numerous songs for past live productions with Ballet Magique®, and through the motion picture Alexis Colette, you will hear some fantastic tracks. Anthony W. Johnson, the force behind Ballet Magique®, has spent over two decades mesmerizing audiences worldwide with his unique and pointed artistic interpretation of form and movement. By applying his supreme and unparalleled level of experience, having worked alongside some of the greatest entertainers of our time incl, including the legendary Paul McCartney, and a collection of the world's most prestigious Ballet and Opera companies, to what ultimately has been his lifelong vision of fusing dance, magic, and martial arts, Johnson collaborated with and has been mentored by some of the world's most prolific and accomplished engineers, magicians and technicians to produce a globally venerated, non-traditional art form.

As The Director of Ballet Magique, Johnson also received 4 Lester Horton Award nominations, including "Outstanding Achievement in Choreography" for Ballet Magique's "Ring of the Rose as well as Outstanding Achievements in Costume, Set and Lighting Design." That year, his student Nobutaka Mochimaru also received Male Dancer of the Year from The Beverly Hills Outlook for his performance with Ballet Magique. Ballet Magique has received many raves from entertainment enthusiasts' corporate sponsors, including dynamic accolades from Master Magician Lance Burton, Renowned illusion designer Jim Steinmeyer, The Orange County Chinese Association, and the Beverly Hills Outlook.

Unsurprisingly, Anthony Johnson shares the same birthday as the late Ballet Master and the father of American Ballet, George Balanchine. Throughout his illustrious career, Johnson (Founder, Director, and Choreographer of Ballet Magique) has trained and performed as a soloist for many prestigious Ballet/Modern/Opera companies throughout the United States and worldwide. You can also see his innate creativity and exemplary discipline in the power of his students. Johnson's private students were accepted or received scholarships to the American Ballet Theatre, School of American Ballet, The San Francisco Ballet School, The Houston Ballet, Boston Ballet School, Alvin Ailey, and The Rock School of the Pennsylvania Ballet. They have also gone to soloist contracts with Hamburg Ballet, Columbia City Ballet, Ballet de Printemps American Ballet Theatre, Alvin Ailey Dance Theatre, Cirque Du Soleil, and on Broadway in "Mama Mia," Movin' Out," The Lion King" Films like Across the Universe, Step up, You got Served, and have appeared on Dancing with the Stars. Some have also toured with Janet Jackson and Britney Spears and are in Germany's production of "Cats." From 2006-2009

In 2009, Johnson got a principal role in Land of the Astronauts starring David Arquette and Vivica A. Fox. Anthony is also a poet, and through fusion and working with late partner Former Vice President M.C.A. Records Gene Wooley, Anthony begins to write songs. Ultimately, he has created a new work set to head into production mid-fall and open in the fall of 2016. Overall, Johnson strives to progress Ballet and Magic into the future by combining the two art forms and fusing them with various dynamic and daring entertainment genres. Ballet and magic are both classic art forms that are seeing a resurgence. His goal is to not only fuse these two art forms but t to enrich this and future generations by offering a fascinating outlook on the virtuosity of the human body while engrossing the mystique of the human psyche.

Unique traits: I also have a theatrical company, Ballet Magique® Productions, LLC my trademark , which fuses Ballet Wushu, Magic, Music styles and Theatre, Live Entertainment, and Film
