Brandon Gates is a versatile freelance journalist, indie filmmaker, voice actor (occasional live-action actor), and screenwriter based in Brooklyn, NY.
Originally from Charleston, SC, he moved to New York City to attend the Columbia Journalism School, fully embracing the big city life. After a decade dedicated to journalism, he expanded his creative horizons by studying sketch comedy at the Upright Citizens Brigade, igniting his passion for comedy writing.
Brandon has authored over a dozen of scripts, ranging from short films to a fictional narrative podcast, earning over 20 screenwriting awards.
In 2023, he directed, produced, co-wrote, and starred in “Podcast Bros,” a comedy short that garnered multiple awards, including Best Actor in a Sketch Comedy, at both the Georgia Comedy and New York City Short Comedy Film Festivals.
Currently, Brandon is working on a sequel to “Podcast Bros” and is in the early stages of producing a comedy podcast and a dramatic short film.
