About Carey

Carey Corr is an award-winning director, writer and producer. His creative work has spanned over fifteen years working in Theater, Music Video, Documentary, Feature Film and Television. He earned a B.S. degree in Film Studies at the University of California, Irvine. While at his first job as a producer for The Travis Group (Mr. Travis’s achievements include directing many television shows, directing and developing the original stage versions of Time Flies When You Are Alive by Paul Link and A Bronx Tale by Chazz Palminteri and directing Going Under a feature film for Warner Bros., starring Bill Pullman and Ned Beatty), Carey launched his directing career by being named “Best New Director” at the 1993 Los Angeles One Acts/New Directors Theater Festival and went on to direct many world premieres for the stage. After leaving The Travis Group, Carey began directing music videos including the video for the song, American Bombs, by the band, The Exploding **** Dolls, which was honored in American Cinematheque’s program entitled, The Alternative Screen -- A Forum For Independent Film. Carey co-wrote the screenplay Don Ho Totally Rocks with Alex Reid, Emmy award winning writer and former Co-Executive Producer for Fox hit sitcom Malcolm in the Middle. He co-directed the short documentary film, A Walk On Water, about surfing, autism and the contamination of our world with toxic substances. A Walk on Water won second place in the 2006 Insight 300 Seconds film festival, which screened the film in venues around the world. His feature film directorial debut, A New Tomorrow, a comedy, which he also produced and wrote the original story, opened at the Seattle True Independent Film Festival in May 2007 winning an award and being honored by being the first film in the festival’s history to receive two screenings in one year of the festival’s programming. The film also screened in the prestigious NewFilmmakers LA Screening Series and at the University California Los Angeles. The film is currently in distribution and available on NetFlix, Amazon and several other digital distribution outlets. Most recently, Carey served as a producer for “Good Advice” segments for FuelTV (starring legendary skateboarder and musician, Duane Peters, skateboarder Paul Rodriguez, surfer Alex Gray and Olympic snowboarder Mason Aguirre) as well as working as a creative consultant for several “My Life” segments for Disney XD. Carey lives in Newport Beach, California with his wife and two children.
