Online Pitchfest VI: Comedy Week

Entry Fee (Skype or Written): $45 per session

Online Pitchfest VI: Comedy Week Stage 32 and The Happy Writers are proud to present Comedy Week! We welcome all of our Stage 32 **writers and filmmakers** to pitch your scripts and reels to executives who specialize in the comedy genre. Pitches can be done via Skype or, if you are unable to use Skype or unavailable at the time of the fest, can be submitted as a written or prerecorded pitch. ### What is a comedy film? Anything that makes you laugh - from a hearty belly laugh all the way to dark intelligent humor! If your script or reel gets a chuckle then you should be participating in Comedy Week pitches. ### Who should be pitching? Anyone with a comedy script or reel with the thought of having a company produce, manage or help finance your project.

Catherine Redfearn

Catherine Redfearn - Wind Dancer Productions

Catherine Redfearn currently serves as Creative Executive for Wind Dancer Films, creators of Roseanne & Home Improvement and films such as What Women Want and Where the Heart Is. Over the past five years, she has worked in the development office, evaluating hundreds of screenplays and helping to build the company's current slate of projects.

Most recently, she worked alongside Wind Dancer partners Matt Williams and David McFadzean to recruit the writing staff for their latest TV show Saint George, starring George Lopez. She then helped manage the writers' room during production of the first 10 episodes for FX.

Catherine also provided support during production and post production of the company's two latest films: Bernie, a dark comedy directed by Richard Linklater and starring Jack Black, Shirley MacLaine, and Matthew McConaughey, and As Cool As I Am, a coming of age dramedy starring Claire Danes and James Marsden.

Before coming to Wind Dancer, she served two years at Creative Artists Agency as an assistant in the Motion Picture and TV Literary departments.

Catherine graduated from Pepperdine University in 2005 with a bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Production and a Minor in Marketing.

She grew up in a small town in northeast Texas and feels blessed to be where she is today, with hopes of producing films and TV shows that touch the heart, uplift and inspire audiences around the world.

Michael Flavin

Michael Flavin - Director of Development, Supergravity Pictures

Michael is looking for low budget genre and low budget comedy feature films, particularly in the younger age demographic.

Michael Flavin is the Director of Development for Supergravity Pictures, a Los Angeles-based production and distribution company headed by Marc Hustvedt (Camp Takota) and Cody Zweig (The Hills Have Eyes, Last House on the Left [2009], Apollo 18).

Michael started his career at Spyglass Entertainment (The Sixth Sense), BenderSpink (American Pie) and The Gotham Group working in management. He then transitioned to State Street Pictures (the Barbershop series) where he was involved with the SONY/CBS release of Faster starring Dwayne Johnson and Billy Bob Thorton, as well as The Inevitable Defeat of Mister & Pete which premiered at Sundance and screened at The White House.

He then worked as the Director of Development for Cider Mill before transitioning to his current role as DoD for Supergravity Pictures.

Jake Detharidge

Jake Detharidge - Independent Development & Production Executive

Jake Detharidge is currently an independent development & production executive. Prior to going independent he was the VP of Development & Packaging for Drive Films. Prior to joining Drive, Jake was the head of development for financing company 3311 Productions (In A World.. (Sundance winner), Big Sur with Kate Bosworth, Mr Right with Anna Kendrick and Sam Rockwell, Table 19  with Lisa Kudrow and Anna Kendrick Ad Inexplorata with Mark Strong)

Jake began his career at Marty Katz Productions as a development exec, transition next to the then newly formed WME. At WME, Jake became the head story analyst in the story department, overseeing the entire literary catalogue for the agency as well as all coverage and submissions. During this period he also helped develop, implement and run the Rights Research Department for all of WME.

After WME, Jake moved on to run development for director Luke Greenfield (The Animal, Girl Next DoorRole Models, Something Borrowed) and WideAwake Inc. Here, Jake helped Luke develop his studio feature Let's be Cops with Simon Kinberg producing and shot through 20th Century Fox. Jake also worked on the 2012 ABC pilot Prairie Dogs, as well as development for 3 other studio features.

Still hoping to broaden his horizons, Jake moved on the financing company, 3311. During his time at 3311 Jake helped oversee the post-production and sale of their first two feature films as well as the development of multiple other projects in various stages of pre-production. Mr. Detharidge's experiences have given him a unique opportunity to sample material from all areas and arenas of the industry, as well as providing him with a wealth of contacts and information.

Agustine Calderon

Agustine Calderon - Producer & Development Executive,

Agustine Calderon is a Producer working in feature films and television. He was previously an executive at a major production company with a co-financing and production deal at Warner Bros. His production and development credits include:
