About Dave

Dave Simonds is a filmmaker living in Williamstown, Massachusetts. Dave is currently working with Sarah Gardner on a documentary about traditional New England dairy farmers. He directed “Cherry Cottage: the Story of an American House,” which has screened at the Boston International Film Festival, the Berkshire International Film Film Festival, The Annapolis Film Festival, The Sun Valley Film Festival, and the Williamstown Film Festival, Louisville Film Festival and the Northampton Film Festival. He directs Simonds Films, which is a full service micro-budget production house that creates features, shorts and artful video content for businesses, educational institutions and the arts. He continues work on his ongoing series of short episodic films. Simonds has made music videos for Albert Cummings, Paul "dirt candy" Jackson, Chuck and Sue Rock, Dale Goodson, and The Bootleggers. As an actor, Simonds has worked extensively in New York, and regionally at The Williamstown Theatre Festival, The Long Wharf Theatre, and The Portland Stage Company. Dave's on-screen credits include Amateur (w/ Isabelle Huppert), The Book of Life (w/ P. J. Harvey), Signs and Wonders (w/ Charlotte Rampling), The Fish in a Bathtub (w/ Mark Ruffulo), Henry Fool, B Movie, among many others. He appears in music videos for Everything But the Girl, Beth Orton and others. Dave has a BA from Bard College.
