David Seth Cohen is a writer, producer, director, actor and editor. He was born on January 13, 1976 in Brooklyn, NY and was raised on Long Island.
Ever since he was a kid, David always loved entertaining people. By age 10, he began making films and performing live shows with his cousin for their family to enjoy and when he was 11, David saved up all his money to purchase his first video camera, the Fisher Price PLX-2000.
At sleep-away camp when he was 12, David hosted his very own late night radio show (The Dave Cohen Show) which he'd record it on his portable cassette boom-box using his bunk-mates as guests and as live audience members when his counselor's fell asleep.
When it was time for college, David surrendered to his parents' wishes that he become an attorney and majored in American National Government at Towson University. After taking an intro to film class as an elective his junior year, and in opposition to his parents desires, David changed his major to Film and Television, and during winter break he got his first glimpse into show business while interning at Dateline, NBC in New York City.
Upon returning to school his senior year, David executive produced and directed a short film called "The Delivery", starring Brendan Hines, which was selected and praised at the Long Island International Film Expo in 1999 and after graduation, David got his first job on a studio movie, the box office hit Big Daddy (1999), where he had the opportunity to meet one of his hero's, Adam Sandler.
In 2000, David headed to Miami to work on his second feature, In the Shadows (2001), directed by Ric Roman Waugh and the following year, he was invited on board as script supervisor for the Fred Carpenter thriller, Marie (2001). While entertaining actors and crew on set as only David can, director Fred Carpenter took notice and offered David his first acting role in a feature film.
After Marie wrapped, David was offered an Associate Producer position at Telecare, TV-29 based on Long Island so he took the job and left the film world to pursue a career in Television.
Six months after his decision, David's hard work and determination paid off and the executives at the station quickly propelled him up the ranks to Producer, to Senior Producer, and finally to Executive Producer.
During the summer of 2006, after almost five years of creating and developing original television content, including three of the stations top half-hour shows, David had a vivid dream about going to Los Angeles to make a movie and when he woke up, he decided to follow it.
A few days later, David resigned from his job and began focusing on feature film development, production and distribution.
