My previously ho-hum yet satisfying life ended in an instant several years ago with the death of my husband and father of our children - fifteen and sixteen at the time. We three survivors crashed and burned. Committed life as we never would have otherwise.
After a few years of floundering, writing saved my sanity (and my liver). I experimented with fiction and blogging. When I stumbled onto screenwriting, a whole new world opened to me ready to eat up all my time, willing to push obligations aside, insisting on creating characters, goals, obstacles, heartache…
I’m still a writing toddler but I look forward to sprinting. I’m having a blast and receiving some gratifying recognition in the first couple years of my adventure: I’ve quartered-finaled and semi-finaled in several screenwriting contests. And one win so far.
I look forward to broadening my scope of knowledge in the areas of acting, directing, producing, etc. – not necessarily for the purpose of doing those things but rather in a way that allows me to understand screenwriting from all perspectives. Hence bettering my skills and art. I’m hoping Stage 32 will provide those opportunities.
