Reared on classic Hollywood Movies through out my childhood (thanks Mom!). Over the years I have noticed when watching a movie or live performance that during slow parts my eye begins to drift to the set dressing or location. I have always stated that when seeing a live performance the most I can ask for is good acting and at the very least an amazing set. That way if I am not feeling the performance I can entertain myself by looking at the set dressing and seeing what details have been included. I have been known to have outbursts during historical films and whipping out my phone to confirm my suspicions that the historical figure was never at that location, or that the painting in the background is from the wrong era. Ok...I guess I outed myself as a history nerd.
I would love to have a hand in creating the world in with a character lives and interacts with others. And I wouldn't mind putting my academic research skills to use again. As my Mom always says to me "You are always inspecting and assessing things that no one else is looking at." I think this tendency would serve me well in the world of set dressing/decorating.
