About the job

Premise:

Nathan, a shy high school senior, feels overshadowed by his bold, reckless
best friend Aiden. At a party, he meets Charlotte — a guarded new girl who
quickly becomes someone he deeply cares about. Over the course of senior
year, their relationship grows, and Nathan believes he’s helping her step out
from under the weight of her strict, controlling parents.

But as he pushes her to “be herself,” he doesn’t realize she is already
struggling with an invisible battle. Charlotte suffers from schizophrenia that
distorts her perception, twisting Nathan’s kind words into cruel ones. Unaware
of what she’s truly hearing, Nathan continues encouraging her to confront the
pressures in her life — unintentionally adding to them.

When Charlotte takes her own life before prom, Nathan is left devastated.
Through her journal, he discovers the painful reality of what she experienced.
The film explores how pressure can wear many faces, how love alone cannot
fix mental illness, and how even the best intentions can carry unintended
weight.
