About Dr.

Dr. Janet Alvarez Gonzalez is an award international winning filmmaker, actor, director, producer, influencer, radio and tv host. Born on February 7, 1965 in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. In 1978, Dr. Janet Álvarez González received the Dramatic Art Medal for Best Comedy Actress from the Pablo Casals School of Fine Arts in the City of Bayamón, Puerto Rico.

She began her career in the late 1980's as a director and producer, and political reporter for US television and radio networks PBS, NPR, FOX and Jay Sears News Services, interviewing personalities such as Soviet Pres. Mikhail Gorbachev, Lt. Col. Oliver North, Vice Pres. Al Gore, Sen. George Allen, Gov. Douglas Wilder, as well other international personalities.

She received a Bachelor in Psychology from the Virginia Commonwealth University, a Master in Educational Media from Virginia State University, and culminated a Ph.D. in Business Administration in Marketing and a Post Graduate Certificate in International Business from Argosy University. Dr. Alvarez has taught Mass Communications and Marketing in many universities around the world. In addition she was the Dean of the MBA Center at Columbia University in Puerto Rico.

In 2003 she wrote with her brother Dr. Samuel Alvarez, produced and protagonist the movie "Latin Comedy" a social satire about how Hispanics were manipulated by the media with the legendary Cuban comedian, director and scriptwriter Leopoldo "Pucho" Fernandez known as "Tres Patines" and "Machito Pichon"

Alvarez founded and produced at National Radio Network the prime time daily show Quejate hosted by Dr. Janet Alvarez Gonzalez knowned as "La fiscal del Pueblo" were she discovered acts of corruption and poor management in The Department of Corrections of Puerto Rico in favor of 48,000 prisoners.

On October 15, 2010, Major Janet Alvarez Gonzalez received the Medal of Merit for "her extraordinary service for the State of Texas".
In 2015 Dr. Janet Álvarez González received the Latin Golden Award Lifetime Achievement in Film, Television and Media by the Foreign Press Association in Show Business awarded in the City of Miami, Florida. Major Janet Alvarez Gonzalez was honorably discharged in December 2016.

In 2018 Janet Alvarez Gonzalez acted and was the executive producer of the Panamanian film Just Cause, Causa Justa, it was nominated in 2019 for the GOYA and into 2020 to represent Panama in the OSCARS. In 2019 Dr. Janet Álvarez González received the Latin MAYA Award - Premios MAYA Academy Award from Bolivia for Lifetime Achievement in Cinematography, Media and Literature Awarded.

Currently she is working with Dallas Locals to produced Buenos Dias Mi Amor, and the film; "El Secreto del Retrato" "The Portrait's Secret" in her own studios of Planet Films.
