A SONG UNDERNEATH THE TREE
(Genre: Psychological Drama)
By: Irish Alvarez-Taflinger
Log Line:
When Olyvia’s family is terrorized by anonymous hackers who weaponize their lives online, she must fight slander, character defamation, intentional public humiliation, fractured trust, and leaving leaves the Christmas ornament as a chilling marker. Despite the chaos, a love triangle emerges with Billy (trouble) and Devin (support). Dream sequences and spirit guidance clarify the stakes and Olyvia’s screenplay as legacy: voice reclaimed.
Tone/ Genre:
Psychological drama with supernatural undertones — intimate family drama + tech-inflected suspense; lyrical, emotional, occasionally whimsical (music/sky motifs) with a hopeful finish.
Synopsis:
Olyvia is a young woman whose ordinary life is shattered after a wave of targeted hacks and smear campaigns expose intimate moments of her family with twisted narratives. Ridiculed and isolated, she chases proof while navigating fraught interactions with Billy (a confused neighbor with very bad friends) and Devin (a tender, conflicted love). Haunted by a mysterious woman who warns her of retribution, Olyvia gathers evidence, confronts betrayal, and ultimately chooses truth and family over silence — arriving at a cathartic reunion that transforms pain into resilience.
