About Jocelyn

Jocelyn Padilla, actress, writer, and filmmaker, received her B.A in Theatre Education from Emerson College in Boston, Massachusetts. She was born and raised in Stoughton, Massachusetts. She has since appeared in a range of productions from short films, feature films and P.S.A's. She played the lead role of Barbara in Luis Carvahlo’s feature film Jonah Lives (2012), appearing as the film’s heroine. The film was picked up for distribution by Wild Eye Releasing. Padilla was nominated for Best Horror Actress at the Jersey Gore Fest in 2013 for her perfomance. Influenced largely by Shirley MacLaine and Marilyn Monroe and vintage Hollywood, Padilla has taken her acting experience to other films such as Amor Sangre, which Lindsey Elisabeth Cork wrote and helped to co-produce in which she plays an out-of-touch vampire, Lucianna, Taboo a film noir short directed and written by Jennifer Grossman in which Padilla plays a night club singer . In addition to these leading roles, her short I Am Monroe? Is currently in post-production, a piece she has written, co-starred and co-directed. Padilla has branched off working with IM Film Works Nathan Suher working as assistant director in the short film Next/Door written by Brian Pickard and Directed by Nathan Suher. And lastly a joint script written by Lindsey E Cork and Jocelyn Padilla entitled A Daisy for Rose completed filming last summer and is currently in post production! Padilla just moved to NYC to continue her acting and filmmaking career.

I Am Monroe? (2013 - 2016)
Film (short) by Jocelyn Padilla/Nathan Suher Woman in the Womb A young Norma Jeane dies a mysterious death. When she awakens, she finds herself in a womb-like realm, a limbo between the past and future. Norma Jeane, portrayed by Andrea Kinch, glances at her reflection in a mirror to find her being is no longer in her own, familiar body, but is now a woman in a womb realm. She quickly learns that passage from one realm into the next can only be achieved by facing a series of challenges; one must be subjected to their past misfortunes, sins and “happy memories” in order to move on. Alongside ‘Woman in the Womb’ played by Jocelyn Padilla is character Laine, a whimsical spirit guide aiding the new soul on her journey in this mirror-like, warped realm. However, things are quickly shaken when horrific images appear in a magic mirror. ‘Red Death,’ an evil, mysterious succubus portrayed by Lindsey E. Cork, plays minds games and tries desperately to keep ‘Woman In The Womb’ from progressing. Will 'The Woman in Womb' find the strength within herself to end this circle of hate or will she fall prey to Red?
Amor Sangre (2014 - 2016)

The film follows a 426-year-old vampire, the out-of-touch Lucianna, as she kidnaps a housewife with whom she’s fallen in love. Veronica, a wholesome, old fashioned mother of two, is whisked away to a deranged ‘love nest,’ and Lucianna tries desperately to make Veronica her loving bride. A Daisy For Rose (2015 - 2016)

After being bullied by the popular girls, she finds herself riding through a dark, unfamiliar road. She discovers a field and a house similar to the one in her dreams. Daisy re-visits the house daily. Each day finding the courage within herself to confront her inner demons all the while uncovering new details about the house, the old woman that resides there and figuring out her place in the world.
