Kristin Goodman is a screenwriter, novelist, and playwright. Kristin’s original television pilot, At Risk, co-created by fellow writer Leo Vargas, recently earned recognition at The Austin Film Festival 2015 as a second round finalist for the AMC Best Original Teleplay contest. Her horror script Horrorscope was also selected as a second round finalist at The Austin Film Festival 2015 in the drama feature category. Kristin and CJ Bacino’s play, La vida abajo, an adaptation of Maxim Gorki’s, The Lower Depths, set in modern day New Mexico, was recently selected as a top ten Stage Play by the New York Screenwriting Festival 2014. Kristin previously directed a workshop of the play at the Chicago College of Performing Arts where she was an acting professor. Kristin’s romantic comedy novel, The Virgin, based on her original screenplay she co-created with producer Jane Kelly Kosek, was indie published in April 2015 and is available on e-sites and in paperback at a number of independent bookstores. Kristin is currently producing her feature, Tucumcari, a family crime drama set to begin production in New Mexico, June 2016. Richard Farmer (WME, Circle of Confusion) has signed on to direct. David Dastmalchian (Ant Man, Prisoners), Kiele Sanchez (Kingdom, The Glades) and Eli Goodman (Longmire, House of Cards, Hawthorne) are the first actors to attach. Kristin’s award winning horror/thriller screenplay, When You Hear Her Cry, was in development from 2012- 2014at Pantelion Studios under the guidance of Pantelion Television’s CCO, Michael A. Garcia. After living and working in Los Angeles for ten years, Kristin agreed to move to Santa Fe, NM with her husband and their daughter in 2013, so her husband could oversee the growth and development of a family run New Mexico based medical cannabis grow and dispensary. Yes, there is a really good story there; yes, Kristin is working on it.
