About Kirk

I like to think of myself as a modern day renaissance man that can write, draw, and build, where no project is too large and no challenge is too great if you can roll your sleeves up and just get to work. With a background as an architect where I have built multi million dollar projects and as a business owner where I have had to manage staff numbering in the hundreds and producing globally televised events with in person spectators in the tens of thousands and audiences in the millions. I have accomplished a lot in my trips around the sun. Now I am looking for a new, fun challenge of getting into the entertainment business.

During college I wrote freelance for several action sports magazines and newspapers, I honed my writing craft and ability to capture live action story telling. I was also an event photographer, going back to the old film and slide days, and was able to develop my skills behind the lens of a camera, which I have progressed into video with the ability to compose a meaningful, insightful capture of the scene.

For fun I have been writing screen plays for the past five years in my spare time between business ventures, and am now I'm trying to get those off of my computer and onto a movie theater screen. I have produced several television commercials for businesses that I have been involved in, directing, editing, and doing voice over for spots that ran throughout the South West (California, Arizona, Nevada).

I also owned an action sports venue that was a location for several music videos, television shows, and motion picture shoots, which allowed me the opportunity to see behind the scenes of some entertainment productions, and I liked the hustle and creativity that was involved.

I like to write comedies with action sequences. I love to laugh and feel the comedy genre is slowly withering away as Hollywood repeats the same movies over and over again. Currently I have ten screen plays completed and have one project in the pre-production phase for an independent film that I am writing and will produce with my brother who is in film school with the goal of getting into one of the major movie festivals. We are securing budgets and locking down venues now, as we have some very exciting ideas that we are trying to accomplish.
