About Lindsey

Connect Film Festival is a project I founded and run in Australia and the USA to connect filmmaking communities and showcase narrative short film work.

For myself as an actor and filmmaker, my 84 second showreel shows more about the work I love to do than a lot of words can explain:

Sunday, October 25th is Connect Film Festival's big USA launch at the Downtown Independent in LA for a full day of short films and networking, though we've done Connect 3 times in Australia already.

Connect emerged naturally from my background- I am an actor who started as a photographer/director on the crew side of the lens. Connect strives to "connect" both sides of the lens and encourage active filmmaker's hubs in both Melbourne, Australia and Los Angeles, USA.

It's a film festival for actors and gaffers as much as for directors-- intended to be an entire mingling of cast and crews, with each short film offering a meaningful introduction to a team of filmmakers, and IMDB listed awards available in post-production, sound, cinematography as well as directing, producing, acting.

Based in LA since January 2015, I'm originally from Cambridge, Mass, grew up partly in Japan and Texas, and spent the past 6 years living in Australia. I speak Japanese, and spent my child/teenage and college years in half a dozen home stays in Japan.

I value active local arts communities and the interconnected tribe of local and international filmmakers, a creative community whose projects should continually inspire and push each other to make better film together.

I am constantly seeking projects to jump in on collaborations-- as an actor, writer, producer, photographer, crew hand, general "maker of film."

Please note: though my training at NIDA helped commit me to being a professional actor, I completed an Acting to Camera certificate, not a multi-year degree. I'm a committed actor, but don't want to misrepresent my training.

Unique traits: Speak Japanese, trained in acting at NIDA in Australia
