Acting : Voiceover Actor and Documentary Narrators by Bev Oliver

Voiceover Actor and Documentary Narrators

If you watch PBS documentaries enough, more than likely you'll hear actor/narrator Peter Coyote's voice. He has a corner on the market in documentary narration. I heard him last night on the PBS series The National Parks: America's Best Idea. The Ken Burns/Peter Coyote coupling is akin to that of Scorsese and De Niro, Spike and Denzel. How do equally talented voiceover artists penetrate that market? How do you find them for your projects?

I know for sure that former newscaster Herman Washington is up for the task, as evidenced in his work on the audiobook Seven Days in Usha Village: A Conversation with Dr. Sebi. Here's a sample https://www.sevendaysinushavillage.org/narrators
