I recently pitched one of my screenplays to an online blog talk show called " The Inside Pitch". It was a fun experience but he didn't request my script. From what I hear he rarely requests anyone's script but said that the script may be great. Check out my pitch. Have you pitched before? What was it like?http://www.blogtalkradio.com/theinsidepitch/2013/12/17/episode-10

I have to agree with him; the scope of the story is rather vague and the protagonist too unsympathetic.
Yea I did to. The story is great but I needed to work on my pitch. Thank you.
I haven't pitched with them yet.
I've actually pitched to executives at studios in their offices- This was of course a few years back. The up shot is they reject 90 to 95% of the pitches- Unless you come in with a hot button topic or something they just happen to be looking for. You have to know the background of whom you are pitching to- If the person you're "pitching" to does not really have a strong development background then they might not be able to recognize a good or revelant story even if they heard one. We just assume people in positions of authority no what they're doing. Sadly this is not always the case.

email me the pitch please....curtislofgren@comcast.net
I don't have your email address, Art.
I piched at sreenpitch.com. It was a great experience. The winner is ... Not me. Allright, there are many good sreenplays, one cannot win anytime.

I think some of these pitch events are just ways of collecting fees. That's not to say someone doesn't win, but I've yet to hear about a script that won one of these pitch fest going on to become a movie much less a sucessful one.
You could be right with your opinion, Mark! :-) When my pitch was running, I got a contact to a Bavarian Filmproduction. They told me, in german television it is not usually to produce a single crime screenplay. If I would write a crime serial and it will be successful in the book market, then there could be a chance. Well, this was helpful for me to know, anyway. But I did not win a dime and have to write it on my own pocket. did you make any experience with amazon studios? Or do you know anybody, who did?

@Volker, I actually pitched for a TV executive and not at a pitch contest or blog like Krystol did. The executive listened and said something along the lines that he liked it but... later on I found out that TV is very corporate and you really need to have someone on the inside pushing for you script. The money that they invest to mount a show is huge and its very hard even for a great idea to get made if the person isn't connected. That's why most writers get inside by working on a show for years and then are in a position to pitch. With movies it's just as bad because again it's millions to make and advertise them. There's an interesting book called "Tales from the script" that interviews 50 top Hollywood writers as they all tell their own stories about selling material in Hollywood, it's also a film documentary, but he book has more material in it you should read it. One of things they mention is most writers get fired from the projects they write on even their own. The most a writer today could hope for is that some like your script and hires you to write for them. That's not to say you still don't have writers who grab the brass ring like Diablo Cody who wrote Juno, but that's getting much more rare these days. That's why I decided to just shoot my own scripts, here's an example of my new web series Angie's Logs take a look. The episodes are short about two minutes in length. I have launched The Invaders You Tube channel http://tinyurl.com/kmueg9l. When you get a chance please check it out and if it's not too much trouble please subscribe to it. Here's a link to the pilot: http://youtu.be/L6KJ3V0Jedw and we have just posted a second episode http://youtu.be/34e4FGUwcIA Also it would be super awesome indeed if you could send, re-post (on your stage 32 wall here for example) or forward the You Tube link to your friends, family and peeps or anyone else you think would enjoy it and ask them if they would subscribe to our channel as well. I know it's asking a lot but we really need to build an audience and subscribers (views are nice too) Don't forget to like us and add us as a friend on Face book: http://www.Facebook.com/TheInvadersWebSeries There's lots of cool artwork from the show and behind the scenes photos.
