About Manuel

Audiovisual Producer, graduated in Audiovisual Communication at the UEM, graduated in directing at ARTSS International UK and in the Entertainment Master Class at the Erich Pommer Institute in Berlin. Since 2001 has produced eight feature films for the international market, five of them in animation, and has won four Goya awards in the best animation feature category.

After working in AGAPI as manager and in the Media Business School as coordinator joins Dygra Films in 1999 as executive producer in the films The living forest (first CGI animation film in Europe) and Midsummer Dream. In 2005 joins Zinkia Entertainment as development and distribution director with the series Pocoyó and Shuriken School.

In 2007 creates Perro Verde Films and has produced five feature films: The Missing Lynx with Kandor Moon presented by Antonio Banderas, Lost in Galicia, The night that stopped raining, Going Nuts and Wrinkles based in the comic book by Paco Roca, directed by Ignacio Ferreras and considered one of the most relevant animatons films in 2012. In 2010 he launched with Milrayas the App Contoplanet. In 2013 produces and launches the 3D documentary feature film Bullrunning in Pamplona and develops for Sunflower Graphics the animated series Planet-Play. In 2014 creates the company Dragoia Media to produce ambitious animation films for the international market.

He is Secretary of the board in CARTOON, member of the board in the Spanish Film Academy and DIBOOS, he is also member of the European Film Academy, visiting professor at the Jilin Animation Center in China and digital production teacher at the U-TAD University in Madrid.

En 1996 got one of the 12 European scholarships granted by the MPAA and entered as intern at UIP, in 1997 was the first Spaniard selected for a grant of the Nipkow Programme in Berlin, in 2000 was selected by the EFA in its new talent programme in Iceland, in 2007 was selected as one of 60 personalities of the Cannes Film Festival by Variety and in 2008 selected producer in the move by European Film Promotion. In 2012 got the CARTOON Tribute as best animation producer of Europe.

Arrugas (2011)
Film (Animation and Drama) Producer Based on Paco Roca's comic of the same title (2008 Spanish National Comic Prize), WRINKLES is a 2D animated feature-length film for an adult audience. Wrinkles portrays the friendship between Emilio and Miguel, two aged gentlemen shut away in a care home. Recent arrival Emilio, in the early stages of Alzheimer, is helped by Miguel and colleagues to avoid ending up on the feared top floor of the care home, also known as the lost causes or "assisted" floor. Their wild plan infuses their otherwise tedious day-to-day with humor and tenderness, because although for some their lives are coming to an end, for them it is just a new beginning.
