Introduce Yourself : Trying to Break into Show Business by David Youngquist

I would first like to apologize for my headshot not being the real me. Unfortunately I don't have any recent photos that are all that flattering and I'm getting over an illness so ones I've tried to take look awful. Besides, he's such a cute stingray. Hopefully once I'm better soon and can show you what I really look like. Anyway, I've always enjoyed writing and took up screenwriting out of curiosity to see what a script of a half hour show. I wrote some spec scripts and people loved them. I thought I would try to break into the business, but I've never been sure how exactly to get in. I'm in Michigan and not in a financial position to change that. That same financial limitations have meant I'm also not in a position to produce anything to showcase my writing. All I have is Celtx to write scripts. I'm hoping to find a connection to studios and have a chance to show my talent. I really don't know how to articulate this at the moment. Hopefully someone can help make the connections to reach those who could use my talents.
