Advice?

Any advice for an aspiring filmmaker? P.S. I am still in high school

Hi Tan. There are SO many resources available right here on Stage 32. Make sure to look through all the lounge discussions - there is so much information in there from people of all levels and locations. The classes and webinars are a great way to learn about the industry too You can find them under the Education tab on the top menu bar. You're definitely in the right place to launch your filmmaking career.

What aspect of film making do you intend to tackle? - Direction - Production - Post Production - Acting - All of it? Films or Television? They are different worlds that have started to overlap slightly. 1: There are books on any topic you wish to discover. Take the books, and filter the information for truths that you discover in the practice. 2: Practice! Practice a lot. Find friends, make films with your phones. Use social media and YouTube. Make stuff happen. 3: Learn the rules, learn the laws in your favor, learn the incentives each state has for filmmakers. 4: Network. Learn all the networks available. Networking and practice are the single most important tools in your arsenal. You're here, so I assume you're doing some of these things. You're on the right track. Best of luck to you.
