Just finished my latest directing one-minute showreel - I'm a filmmaker and photographer who lives in Quebec City, Canada, but often travelling all around the world for work. I started working as a director in 2008 and right now I'm looking for new projects, so hey, tell me what you think about the showreel or if interested, tell me about your projects :) https://vimeo.com/116652819 Cheers

It was a fun film about good time 70-80s. You could probably make a full feature out of your short. Develop personal stories in the first time of the film and then throw in the end that monster. Of course looking at your film it reminds us movies like 'blair witch project' with the same shaking camera effects and Paranormal activity but why not. You could extend it to 90 min, present to distributors and SAs who knows maybe they would pick it up. It would not cost you much. Did you think about it?
Vitaly, great name and valuable advice. Elias great work I think you will go far.

Thank you Zaff. Always trying to contribute to the community while I am between the projects.
Thanks a lot Vitaly, this one is from 2010, since then I produced a lot of things and been back as a director 2 years ago. Trying to get some of my projects funded but everyone is telling me that my projects are too complicated here in Canada. So I've been up to a couple of other projects while waiting for a good and bold producer to help me out with my scripted films. You can take a look at my things in here : https://www.eliasdjemil.com/cinema
Ещё раз Виталий, спасибо за вашы советы :)

I looked at your body of work by the way and I have to tell you, and I am saying it very seldom, you are an artist and a director. I like how you work with music, your angles, wide shots, inserts, how the camera catches the moment and stays on it. You know how to tell stories. And your projects are not complicated. People in Canada probably could't or didn't want to verbalize it right. Where you are struggling is the choice of the material. Material can be artsy but it also should be on the commercial side. Steven Spielberg would not be where he is today if he would start with Schiendler's list or Saving Private Ryan. Those scripts still would be on a dusty shelf, non produced. He started with very commercial films. Go on IMDB and check for yourself. You want to work in Rome you do it like the Romans do but with a light touch, with your style. So first component is a commercial script and it doesn't has to be your script, genre project with recognizable names. You should always think market first then create a right package for that, with a right team, talent and the budget. It's called reversed engineering. You do it that way you'll go high, then you go and do your Schindler's list. Baby steps.
You are opening my mind, really! It changes the perspective. Wow! Seriously, thanks a lot for those advices!
