At age 60 the phone seldom rang, at 70, they thought I was dead. After years of working in the most exciting business in the world as a Location Manager, I was out. All I wanted was to work on a feature film once again. The answer in my head, was to produce my own film. Need a property, so I will write one. No, that won't work, I can't write a feature length script. So, I'll write a 3 page synopsis, find a young hungry writer, offer big points to write a spec script. Well my 3 page synopsis turned into a 40 thousand word novel, a pretty bad one at that. I thought I would self publish and then try writing a script from the book. Starting thinking, who is going to but a script from a first time 72 year old writer. Nobody. Produce it myself, but it is a big budget period piece set in Italy. Can't raise that money.
