good day all, I just found out about this amazing site by accident. I'm still studying so there isn't so much to say, but there is much to say about the Egyptian film market. Egypt was once called "the middle east's Hollywood". It bloomed with both artistic and commercial films that echoed all over the world, yet now, only commercial films dominate, with producers from a non cinematic background taking over the field, as well as non academic nor self educated directors, just people who know how to sell to people, which of course, doesn't sell across the borders of the country, and there are rare artistic movies around yet so many artistic minds and ambitious chained with restrictions and corruption. We were forced to direct the script "they" wanted, choose the angles that would bring money, choose the actors that would bring more money, etc.. Lately, (in the past couple of years), there has been a revolution in Egypt's film industry, young filmmakers beginning to put hand in hand to produce what the country needs to re-acclaim its "middle east's Hollywood" image, yet having international strong relations and resources are needed to achieve that. I, as a student, find that site a gift from the film gods to me to more easily acquire those relations and experiences and such. Hope you accept me as one of you, I will try to draw more attention to this site in my circles, and hopefully draw the site's attention to middle eastern cinema. Thank you, and God bless.
