I've been looking at diversity in front of and behind the camera in the US and UK and what I find interesting is that the UK is so much slower to initiate real change - but we're good at talking about it. For example, the new series of True Detective tackles its "woman problem" by adding a new detective played by Rachel McAdams. No such change in the BBC series Dr Who (which has only had two female writers in its 50-year history).
