Introduce Yourself : Author/Musician by Ravi Bedi

Hi, I am Wing Commander (Retd) Ravi Bedi, did Chemical Engineering from BHU (1962), and joined the Indian Air Force more for its blue uniform than any patriotic fervor. (Don't ask me what a Chemical Engineer was doing in the Air Force--my employers didn't know the difference between a mining engineer, electrical engineer, or a bloody chemical engineer..just the 'engineer' part was good enough for them!). But my heart was in the creative pursuits, composing music being my first love. To quench my creative thirst, I became a self-taught painter with moderate success and, when my basement started piling up with all the trash (read paintings), I decided to become a writer-- I had stories to tell. It took quite a while before I could polish my craft to an acceptable degree. With my first novel, “Lovers’ Rock” (published by Rupa Publications in 2014), I seem to have earned a pass to join the party. Predominantly set in the glamorous Goa of the 1960s, "Lovers' Rock" is high-octane story of obsessive love, passion, and retribution--a romantic thriller that will keep you glued to the book till the very end. Though set in India, it has a unique plot, which has a universal appeal fit to be adapted into a classic movie, should an enterprising producer/director spare a little time to read this book while on a long flight. I love my golf, enjoy composing music on Korg synthesizer and Roland FP-50 digital piano, run a hotel in town to put meat on the table, and live with my wife of 50 years in Jodhpur. I'm currently editing my sixth novel, while four of them are waiting for final verdicts (read pink slips) from prospective publishers. Am I bragging too much? You better believe me. Cheers.
