Film production financing

https://www.linkedin.com/groupItem Film Financing: To all filmmakers who are seeking financing for production, Bruce Singman Experienced securities/entertainment attorney and writer/producer of film, television and home entertainment I am an attorney practicing in California in the areas of securities (film production financing included) and entertainment (motion picture, television and music industry matters) and a variety of business transactions and I've written to one of you (Jim) previously in connection with his quest to find the answers about financing his film project(s). I applaud everyone who has pitched in to offer advice in response to this query, but, as difficult as it is to find the money … maybe the most difficult quest of all in the area of investments ... and I have prepared placement memoranda for a variety of investments in addition to film production including real estate of all kinds, oil and gas, technology, social media networking etc…. the steps to be taken are not obtuse. You make certain that you have access to those with whom you have a pre-existing business and/or personal relationship who have investment funds available or those with such relationships with such people or are willing to make the effort to secure accredited investors, as there is now an exception to general solicitation and advertising (or you have the time and money to register your offering with the securities regulators) or you have access to distribution which will enable you to secure bank debt financing; you develop your film project i.e. come up with a screenplay and a budget; you retain an attorney with film financing experience who also has film production legal expertise or another attorney who does; and make certain that you have enough money in your pocket or access to it to retain such legal counsel because you need counsel to prepare the disclosure materials i.e placement memorandum which must be delivered to your prospective equity investors prior to taking a penny from them. Then you are off and running and, if your investors or lender come through, you will be in the midst of a very complex endeavor aka feature film production. I wish you the best. Bruce brucesingman@earthlink.net 310 486-0995 P.S. I am also an experienced film writer and producer … see www.warriorthemovie.com … and I have never engage d in any endeavor quite as complex ... though incredibly rewarding.
