Introduce Yourself : Screenwriter by Bill Hicks

Hello! My name is Bill and I live in Northern California. I've been writing professionally for about 16 years, mostly in journalism and related fields. I wrote my first "once upon a time" short story when I was 11 and I've been writing creatively ever since. I started in screenwriting about 25 years ago, just to see if I could follow the format. It was a hobby more or less since then. I've been pursuing it as a serious career option for about two years. As evidence of that seriousness, here I am at Stage 32. I'm not a big social media person. I have Twitter for work, I don't have Instagram, Facebook or any of that. My hope is that being connected in some way with others in my same position will help push my career forward. As for my writing, I write everything. Of my completed scripts, I've written in the sports genre, romantic-comedy, drama, coming of age, fantasy, sci-fi, and a 'based on a true story' script. That's it for now.
