We operate in a flooded market. All I want to do is make the career change and write, but to do that I also need to be a self promoter. You have peers read your work, and give you feedback, or say this is it, but then how do you get it to the right people? As a production supervisor in theater, I worked with everyone, but I couldn't betray the position I held for the the career that I wanted. So, the old "It's not what you know, it's who you know." isn't exactly true: It's who knows you. Me? All I want to do is write.
