Introduce Yourself : Screenwriter, filmmaker, storyteller of action, suspense and "New Takes on Old Tales" by Stacey Parshall Jensen

Good morning! I'm a Mixed Blood screenwriter. I write character-driven crime, suspense, mystery and action. I write drama about relationships and family. I write about making it through the storm. I'm a USC SCA graduate with a MFA in Screenwriting. I also hold a MFA in Creative Writing and a MLS in Interdisciplinary Child Social Studies- I am a women and children's advocate. My husband and I own a small production company, Through The Wilderness, LLC. We are dedicated to film projects that are "New Takes on Old Tales". Our debut production is a short action film called Blessed, which I wrote. It's about a Native cop who is torn between her desire to be a mom and being a warrior she needs to be. It's a suspense-filled contemporary story about miscarriage, motherhood and fighting for family. Currently, Blessed has begun the festival circuit. Its first screening at the One Nation Film Festival in Colorado garnered the Best Narrative Short Film- Audience Award. Currently, I'm writing the full-length feature of Blessed. Imagine... As we go farther towards production of the feature, I'll be in need of more development assistance, financial and investment advice, production help, actors, etc... This will be our first feature we develop and produce. The first feature we served as executive producers on, First Girl I Loved, a PHS Collective film, had its world premiere at Sundance where it won the NEXT Audience Award and currently continues to win awards across the country. We are thrilled to be a part of this beautiful film about a girl who falls in love with another girl and the boy who loves her. In the future I plan to keep telling stories that are "New Takes on Old Tales" and making film where I get to blow shit up. Happy to be here! PEACE
