I was curious how Avengers outperformed Black Panther 2 to 1 Overseas, but not domestically. Does anyone have a explanation for this? Both films from the same franchise, studio, number of screen bascially the same. Just curious! Two to one is quite a feat!

I saw Avengers did great numbers in China. I think right now it has done $1.4 billion overseas versus BP $650 million overseas.
Avengers Infinity War is a way more fun movie with a more intriguing villain than BP. Period.
I think Avengers did more because it was the ensemble cast from the multi-verse whereas Black Panther was a story set in the multi-verse. Kinda of like Ant-Man or Spider Man is part of it but Avengers is the whole. I loved Black Panther however because it was't conventional like many of the other Marvel Universe films.

Parent of a child actor here - I am involved in marketing but of other industries, so take my opinion for what it is...LOL I find that the cultural appeal of the design & appearance of characters is a huge factor in the Asian markets (and of course the visual trends are culturally different than in the US, which may have been the factor that were the drive behind the numbers).
