Although I've been part of the Stage32 family for some years, this is my first time in the lounge. So thanks Stage32 and you all for this opportunity. I am very glad to be here. I hope to bring something to the Crowdfunding Lounge that is of value to filmmakers, like you, who are responsible for raising production funding. By now you have learned (or are learning) that it is no small task.
Let me tell you briefly about my fundraising experiences for a project called "CA Shorts" and what has been achieved thus far.
On two occasions over the last 12-months, I've joined the Seed&Spark crowdfunding platform to do my business. The first campaign was to raise $8,000 to establish a formal business (called G.Maselli Company LLC or GMCo), option 3 screenplays, build a Production Department consisting of 4 smart and able producers and then to develop the optioned screenplays in preparation for their production. Then and only then, a second campaign targeting $7,500 was launched to produce two key segments of the feature-length film. One, called "A Lovely Adult Beverage" is in-the-can and the second called "Indulgence" is now in post.
Now I am preparing to launch my third crowdfunding campaign for "CA Shorts'. This time I am to raise a considerable % of the completion funds for the entire project going forward. How much is that exactly? A lot. Above-the-line needs 40k. Below-the-line need 45.5k. This time I'm going to the Indiegogo crowdfunding platform. Why? I'll get into that aspect of it all in future conversations.
